Qld: LNP takes legal action over election
Queensland's Liberal National Party has launched legal action to overturn the election
result in the Brisbane seat of Chatsworth .. claiming vote fraud.
The application on behalf of failed LNP candidate ANDREA CALTABIANO has been filed
in the Court of Disputed Returns.
Labor's STEVE KILBURN .. who won the seat by 74 votes .. has a week to respond to the claim.
The LNP alleges people voted more than once and used the names of people who weren't
entitled to vote .. to cast a ballot.
The party also claims in court documents some people who were entitled to vote were
denied a ballot .. and it questions the integrity of the vote count which was moved from
a building in the electorate to the electoral commission's headquarters for security reasons.
