The owners of the proposed Albany Admirals franchise in the Global Hockey League expressed extreme concern Wednesday over recent developments and said they might pull out of the yet-to-be formed league.
Joe O'Hara, one of the owners, said he and his partner Glenn Mazula may not even go to the GHL meetings next week in Providence, R.I.
The decision not to field a team would cost them between $150,000 and $200,000 in already incurred expenses, according to O'Hara. They had hired a staff of five to work for the Albany Admirals in February and had other expenses, including promotion, travel and a down payment to the league.
