"The aim of the study was to investigate the seed and seedling anatomy, as well as to identify the reserve degradation pathway during the germination process in Euterpe oleracea seeds. Longitudinal and transversal sections of endosperm and embryo seeds, as well as transversal sections of different parts of the seedling were analyzed," investigators in Belem, Brazil report.

"The seeds are ruminated with the endosperm formed by cells of several sizes and forms, as well as by presenting very large walls and pits.
