Qld: Holiday road blitz begins today
A holiday road safety blitz starts today throughout Queensland, with speed cameras
used for longer periods and more police deployed on highway patrols.
The 54-day blitz will be reinforced by graphic television advertisements urging motorists
to slow down and punching home the message that "Every K over is a killer".
Police Minister TONY MCGRADY says 318 Queenslanders were killed in road crashes last
year and the government can't allow the situation to continue.
