BALTIMORE - It's no big deal now, but the bandages will stay on Big Brown's front legs for Saturday's Preakness Stakes.
Trainer Richard Dutrow Jr. confirmed as much Thursday after Big Brown galloped 1( miles around the Pimlico oval shortly after 8:30 a.m.
Dutrow caused a bit of a stir when he announced Big Brown would wear the bandages in the Kentucky Derby. He said he uses them to keep the horse from clipping himself on his right heel and causing what he says is a burn, or a blister.
"We should have used them in the Florida Derby," Dutrow said. "It's not a big deal."
Happy birthday
