Fed: Two domestic airlines likely in future, Bracks
Victorian Premier STEVE BRACKS says he's confident the sale of Ansett to the FOX-LEW-ledsyndicate Tesna will go ahead.
Mr BRACKS says Tesna's still the best game in town for taking over Ansett, althoughproblems with the Sydney Airport lease still need to be sorted out.
He's told Melbourne radio 3AW once that's sorted out, the sale will go through.
Mr BRACKS does concede industry experts believe it will be very difficult for threeairlines to survive in Australia.
But he says the Victorian government will continue to fly Ansett in an effort to supportthe airline.
Tesna principals LINDSAY FOX and SOLOMON LEW arrived back in Melbourne today aftera five-day trip to Europe in which they signed a deal for new planes and met Virgin Blueowner Sir Richard Branson.
