Vic: Oppn says Royal Commission seeking further extension
The Victorian opposition says the cost of the Metropolitan Ambulance Royal Commission
has blown out to $45 million.
Opposition health spokesman ROBERT DOYLE says taxpayers want to know what value they
are getting for the money.
Mr DOYLE says the commission won't result in one more patient being treated or put
one more ambulance on the road.
He says it was originally going to cost $5 million and run for six months, but it's
now had three extensions of time and still won't meet its April deadline.
Mr DOYLE says his $45 million estimate of the cost includes the direct cost of $20
million, plus the costs for lawyers, accountants and government departments.
